We are pleased to release new Model of ATA product, ATA-171M which is an one FXO port plus one FXS ATA products. The PSTN incoming call can be routed to IP network. Also, an VoIP incoming call can be routed to local PSTN Phone or FXS phone set. This product is suitable for installation at home to work with ITSP service provider. It provides call transfer and call forwarding function between IP and FXO/PSTN port. For details datasheet, please visit Welltech web at

Feature and Function Added
  1. Added the field —Route in Re-Invite packets for Call Hold
  2. Increased the allowable range of the sequence number field in packets. If the differences of the sequence numbers are overly large between packets, the device will reset the sequence number value within an allowable range in order to avoid problems that it may cause.
  3. New formula for SIP Expire Time. If SIP Expire Time > 120, then the calculation will be SIP Expire Time minus [(expire time/30)*6], if the SIP Expire Time < 120 then the calculation will be SIP Expire Time minus 5. If the SIP Expire Time = 120, then the formula is SIP Expire Time minus 5. The unit is in second.
  4. Added Service Name field in PPPoE function.
  5. PSTN Call Forwarding, All Forward and No Answer Forward function can be forwarded to a PSTN phone or ITSP IP phone.
  6. Auto Answer function. An incoming calls from IP or PSTN/FXO side will be forwarded to PSTN/FXO or IP side if the configured ring cycle to FXS phone are not answered. If an incoming call is made from PSTN/FXO to ATA-171M, the FXS phone will ring first. After several configured ring cycle to FXS phone, the call will be forwarded to IP side. The alarm signal will remind you to enter PIN code before dialing ITSP number. PIN code can be set on this function which will require user to input the password before forwarding to the other port (Please refer to figure 1 below for diagram explanation). The factory default is disable auto answer function at call forwarding.
  7. Added new option —Management from WAN“ in Others=>Advanced Settings web page, be able to restrict users to access web configuration from WAN port at ATA-171M.
  8. Function of the Attendant Call Transfer is changed (please refer to figure 2 for diagram explanation). When the ATA receives an incoming call from the FXO port and FXS phone answer this call. To activate call transfer function, press flash button of FXS phone. The transferor itself is on hold (ATA) while FXS phone hear dial to enter access code. The caller (PSTN Phone) will hear the dial tone and continue to dial to ITSP IP Phone number.
  9. Access code to perform call transfer from IP to PSTN is #514#, while the access code to perform call
    transfer from IP to IP is #510#, PSTN to IP call transfer code is #511# (please refer to figure 2 for diagram explanation).

  1. Removed NAT VLAN from VLAN Settings.

Call Forwarding at Auto Answer mode

Setup: In the web configuration menu for ATA-171M, go to Phone Setting => Auto Answer web menu and there is an option —Auto Answer“, to activate it, select —On“. The Auto Answer Counter option allows you to specify how many rings before the ATA will automatically pick up the call (default is 3 rings). You also need to configure PIN code to avoid unauthorized persons to forward his call to PSTN or IP network.

Scenario 1: PSTN call made to the ATA-171M

  • A caller from PSTN end ( FXO ) makes a PSTN call to the ATA device.
  • The FXS phone set at the ATA end rings.
  • If no answer for 3 rings, the caller from PSTN end will hear a dial tone provided by IP.
  • The PSTN Phone will hear an alarm tone to enter PIN code if you enable PIN code function.
  • The caller can then continue the dialing process and forward the call to IP.

Scenario 2: IP call made to the ATA-171M

  • A caller come from IP end makes a call to the ATA device.
  • The FXS phone set at the ATA end rings.
  • If no answer for 3 rings, the caller from IP Phone end will hear a dial tone provided by PSTN.
  • The PSTN Phone will hear an alarm tone to enter PIN code if you enable PIN code function.
  • The caller then continue the dialing process and forward the call to PSTN via FXO port.

Call Transfer

Scenario 1: PSTN call transfer to IP

Call Procedures

  • An PSTN analog phone makes a PSTN call to the ATA-171M via FXO port.
  • The FXS phone set connected to the ATA rings and the end user answers the call.
  • The FXS Phone at the ATA end presses the flash button on the phone set. And FXS phone enter access code #511# to transfer this call after hearing a dial tone.
  • The PSTN Phone caller will hear a dial tone and continue to dial to IP side
  • The call will then be transferred to IP (VoIP network).

Scenario 2: IP call transfer to PSTN

Call Procedures

  • An IP call from IP Phone is made to the ATA-171M.
  • The FXS phone set connected to the ATA rings and the end user answers the call.
  • The FXS phone end user at the ATA end presses the flash button on the phone set and after hearing a dial tone, presses the access code #514#.
  • The FXS phone end user at the ATA end can then continue the dialing process and transfer the call to PSTN via FXO port.

Scenario 3: IP call transfer to IP

Call Procedures

  • An IP call is made to the ATA-171M.
  • The FXS phone set connected to the ATA-171M rings and the phone user answers the call. The end user at the ATA end presses the flash button on the phone set and after hearing a dial tone, presses the access code #510#.
  • The end user at the ATA end can then continue the dialing process and transfer the call to IP.
